About Football Path
Football Path is an independent reference site for the road to major football tournaments: who is hosting, when it is played, how teams qualify, what the format is and what has actually been confirmed. It started life in 2026 as a road-to-the-final bracket for the FIFA World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada; that tournament is now kept as a complete World Cup 2026 archive, and the tournament hub tracks the path to the next ones.
What the site covers
One page per upcoming tournament — currently the Asian Cup, AFCON and Women's World Cup in 2027, the Copa América and Euro in 2028, the Club World Cup in 2029 and the World Cup in 2030 — with hosts, dates, venues, qualification paths and key dates. The World Cup 2026 archive holds every match, team, venue and result page from the tournament, plus evergreen guides to the 48-team format, the tiebreaker rules and the best third-place teams rule.
How facts are verified
Every date, venue, result and rule on the site is checked against at least two independent sources before it is published. Organiser sources come first: FIFA, UEFA, CAF, the AFC and CONMEBOL for their own competitions, then national associations and host organising committees. Reputable press agencies and broadcasters are used to confirm and to fill gaps, never on their own for anything the organiser has not announced.
Anything that has not been confirmed by the organiser — a host still to be chosen, a draw date not yet announced, a format that may change — is labelled TBC on the page rather than guessed. Where a figure is reported but not officially published, the page says so. We do not invent line-ups, statistics or attendances.
Review cadence
Every page carries a "Last reviewed" date in its footer. Upcoming-tournament pages are reviewed at least monthly, and more often as a tournament approaches or when the organiser makes an announcement (a draw, a venue confirmation, a schedule release). Archive pages for completed tournaments are reviewed when a correction is reported or when a related page changes.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it on the page itself and change the page's reviewed date; we do not leave known errors standing. Corrections to results, dates and rules are checked against the same two-source standard as the original entry. If a correction changes something material — a result, a qualification outcome, a host — the related pages (team, fixture, results and guide pages) are updated at the same time so that the site does not contradict itself.
What the site is not
- It is not affiliated with FIFA, UEFA, CAF, the AFC, CONMEBOL or any national association, and it is not an official site of any tournament.
- It does not sell tickets and does not link to ticket resellers. Tickets for every tournament covered here are sold only through the organiser's official channels.
- It carries no betting content, odds or bookmaker advertising.
- It is not a live-score service. Results are added after matches finish and verified before publication.
Contact and corrections
Football Path is maintained in the open. The site's source lives in a public GitHub repository at github.com/CommanderWaterford/football2026; if you spot an error or a fact that has since been confirmed or changed, open an issue there with a link to the page and to your source. Corrections that meet the two-source standard are applied and the page's reviewed date is updated.
