Argentina 3, Switzerland 1. Breel Embolo gave Switzerland a shock lead in the 14th minute, finishing a swift counter, but Argentina were level by half-time through Julián Álvarez. Lionel Messi turned the tie in the second half, curling in a free-kick in the 63rd minute, before Lautaro Martínez added a third from close range in the 81st to settle it. Switzerland pushed for a way back but could not breach the Argentine defence again.
