World Cup 2026 group stage results: all standings and who qualified

The 2026 FIFA World Cup group stage featured 12 groups of four teams each. Of the 48 teams that entered, 32 advanced to the Round of 32 knockout bracket — two from each group, plus the eight best third-place finishers.

How qualification worked

In each of the 12 groups, the top two teams (group winner and runner-up) advanced automatically to the Round of 32. That accounts for 24 of the 32 knockout spots. The remaining eight places were filled by the best third-place finishers from across all 12 groups, ranked by points, then goal difference, then goals scored.
