Euro 2028 schedule: dates, rounds and venues by day
Euro 2028 kicks off in Cardiff on Friday June 9, 2028 and ends with the final at Wembley on Sunday July 9. UEFA has confirmed the venue for every match slot; the teams filling those slots are decided by the final draw in December 2027. This page sets out the tournament day by day, round by round, and notes what is still to come.

The 24 teams play in six groups of four. The top two in each group and the four best third-placed sides go into the Round of 16, so 16 of the 24 teams survive the group stage, the same format as Euro 2016, 2020 and 2024. There are two rest days between the groups and the Round of 16 (June 22–23) and between the Round of 16 and the quarter-finals (June 28–29), then a two-day gap to the semi-finals and three days before the final.

Matchday one runs June 9–13, matchday two June 14–18 and matchday three June 19–21, with the final round of group games played as simultaneous pairs on the closing days. Kick-offs are at 14:00, 17:00 and 20:00 local time (15:00, 18:00 and 21:00 CEST). UEFA's calendar is by venue rather than by group, and the groups are assigned to venues only after the draw, so the group letters for each day are not yet known beyond Group A opening in Cardiff.

Round of 16 winners move to a different stadium for their quarter-final under UEFA's schedule rules. Wembley's quarter-final on June 30 is the ground's first knockout match of the tournament; it then hosts the entire final week, as it did for Euro 2020 in 2021.
What is published and what is still pending
Confirmed by UEFA: tournament dates, all nine venues, the venue and date of every match slot, the kick-off time bands, the rule that hosts are group heads playing all three group games at pre-selected grounds (Wales in Cardiff as A1, England B1, Republic of Ireland E1, Scotland F1 if they qualify), and the final at 18:00 CEST on July 9.
Not yet published: the 24 teams (qualifying runs March–November 2027 with play-offs in March 2028), the group composition and therefore the fixture list with team names, exact kick-off times for individual matches, and the venue and date of the final draw, expected in December 2027.
